About James Hallock

I was born and raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado and was always interested in art.  I began doing pottery at the age of 12 after receiving a scholarship to Bemis School of Art in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  I continued to take pottery classes for ten years during which I was able to explore my creativity and develop new skills with clay.  After years of family and friends asking if I was selling or displaying my pottery Hallockpottery.com was created.  After 15 years of "just playing in the mud" there was now a place to display my work.

My main interest is in doing one of a kind works of art but will occasionally make matching sets.  My most recent interest is in Raku art work.  I love the challenge of getting just the right look that I set out for given Raku's unpredictable nature.

Take a look around the site, if you see anything you are interested in purchasing leave your information and I will contact you with more details.  If you have any questions or comments I would appreciate hearing them.  Enjoy!!!
